Venues

For the 2nd edition of the festival, we’ll be travelling around different venues in Freetown to reach as many communities as possible. We hope you’ll join us for some or all of the journey. Below are some of the venues we are using:

British Council

Tower Hill, downtown Freetown

The British Council are kindly providing us with their hall which has large capacity for film screenings. A link to a map can be found here.

Kroo Bay Community Centre

Kroo Bay is home to over 6, 000 people in the centre of Freetown who are subject to poverty, disease and other human rights abuses. The festival will play a key role in outreaching to those on the margins of our society.

Globe Cinema

30 Syke Street, Freetown

Freetown’s only working cinema and a popular venue for football games. We hope to reach a wide audience through using this popular Freetown spot.

Grass Field, Lumley

We’re adding in another outdoor screening this year to reach out to the Lumley community!

Shangri La, Lumley Beach

- we’ll have our Closing Ceremony and Awards at the famous Shangri La with the beautiful view of Lumley Beach

Starco Cinema, East End

We’re not forgetting the East! We’re including this popular cinema venue as part of the 2nd edition.

Thomsonia Hall

Syke Street, Freetown (near the National Stadium)

A popular hall for film screenings and weddings! Very central. We’ll be holding our Opening Ceremony here.
